Basketball Recap: Four Straight Road Wins for Tri-Valley

Tri-Valley won the last time they faced Flanagan-Cornell and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Tri-Valley Vikings walked away with a 62-50 win over the Flanagan-Cornell Falcons. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 116th, while the Falcons are ranked 422nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Flanagan-Cornell's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Logan Ruddy, who posted 20 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Connor Reed, who went 6 of 15 en route to 15 points and six rebounds.

Tri-Valley pushed their record up to 17-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Flanagan-Cornell, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-9 record this season.

Tri-Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 59-37 win against Paxton-Buckley-Loda on the 31st. As for Flanagan-Cornell, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-58 defeat against Heyworth on the 31st.
