Volleyball Recap: Rice Comes Up Short

Rice was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They came up short against the Keene Chargers, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chargers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Rice was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-6, 25-21.

Keene found their leader in freshman Brianna Letal, who had nine digs and three aces.

Rice's defeat dropped their record down to 10-18. As for Keene, the win got them back to even at 10-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Rice will challenge Grandview at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Zebras will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Keene, they will square off against Palmer at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
