Recap: The Nueva School Mavericks vs. King's Academy Knights
After a string of three wins, The Nueva School Mavericks's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They were outmatched by King's Academy at home and fell 80-42. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points The Nueva School has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why The Nueva School lost, one person who can't be blamed is Gabe Ciechanover. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points. Jackson Lee was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
King's Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Bryce Sherman out in front who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Hughey, who scored 15 points.
The Nueva School's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for King's Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-2.
The Nueva School will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against University Prep Academy at 7:00 p.m. King's Academy will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Santa Clara at 6:30 p.m. on December 19th. Santa Clara has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 176 points over their last three contests.
