Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Teutopolis

Teutopolis waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Tuscola Warriors. The Wooden Shoes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Alyssa Tipton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than 12 strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mallory Bloemer was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Hoene, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

Teutopolis was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tuscola only posted a batting average of .200.

Teutopolis' record is now 15-5. As for Tuscola, they dropped their record down to 6-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Teutopolis will head out to challenge Cumberland at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Tuscola, they will welcome Shelbyville at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rams have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.67 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of.
