Basketball Game Preview: Pine Bluffs Hornets vs. Southeast Cyclones

The Pine Bluffs Hornets will challenge the Southeast Cyclones at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Pine Bluffs is headed into the game having just suffered their closest defeat since January 6, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of Big Horn by a score of 46-43. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Southeast faced Lingle-Fort Laramie in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. Southeast took a 34-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lingle-Fort Laramie. The Cyclones' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Pine Bluffs' defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Southeast, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-3.

Pine Bluffs was able to grind out a solid victory over Southeast in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, winning 37-30. Will Pine Bluffs repeat their success, or does Southeast have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
