The Covington Trojans will take on the Parke Heritage Wolves at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Covington is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
While Covington's victory against Attica wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Trojans had just enough and edged out the Red Ramblers 8-7. While the Trojans didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Kyven Hill made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Nash Martin was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Cian Moore, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Covington hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Attica struck out 11 times.
Meanwhile, Parke Heritage came up short against Cascade on Thursday, falling 20-2. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Parke Heritage saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josiah Heck, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Parke Heritage's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Covington, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
Parke Heritage's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Covington hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .323. It's a different story for Parke Heritage, though, as they've only averaged .218. Will they be able to contain Covington's hitters?
Covington beat Parke Heritage 8-3 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
