Basketball Recap: Marion Takes a Loss

Marion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 59-37 to the Lexington Wildcats.

Despite the defeat, Marion saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Rodrick Dickerson went 6-for-10 on his way to 13 points. Dickerson also set a new season-high mark in field goal percentage with 60%. Another player making a difference was Charles White II, who posted four points.

Marion's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Lexington, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Marion will head out to face off against St. James at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lexington, they will venture away from home to challenge Northwestern at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
