Basketball Game Preview: Westside Rams vs. Laurens Raiders

The Westside Rams will take on the Laurens Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Westside easily dispatched Emerald on Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Westside fell just short of Fountain Inn by a score of 44-42 on Friday. The match marked the Rams' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Laurens' game on Saturday was all tied up 25-25 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 63-50 victory over Clinton. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Red Devils are ranked 131st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Westside's loss dropped their record down to 16-6. As for Laurens, their win bumped their record up to 16-7.

Westside came up short against Laurens in their previous meeting back in January, falling 55-45. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Laurens' Tyj Narrius Jones, who went 8 for 13 en route to 25 points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
