Baseball Game Preview: Stoughton Black Knights vs. Milford Hawks

The Stoughton Black Knights will head out on the road to challenge the Milford Hawks at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Stoughton took a nine-run defeat the last time they faced off against North Attleborough, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Black Knights came out on top in a nail-biter against the Rocketeers on Monday, sneaking past 7-6.

Milford came out on top against Sharon on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Hawks walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Eagles. The win continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won six in a row.

Cody Geoffroy was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Geoffroy was also big at the plate, earning two runs and one stolen base.

In other pitching news, Brody Prescott looked comfortable as he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Back at the plate, Joey McGee was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2025. Ryan Flis was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Milford's record now sits at 2-0. As for Stoughton, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Stoughton might still be hurting after the 12-1 loss they got from Milford in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Black Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
