Volleyball Recap: Council Grove Comes Up Short

Council Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 26th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 2-0 to the Smith Center Redmen.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-16.

Smith Center's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lillie Heiland led the charge by getting ten digs and two assists. Heiland is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least ten every time she's taken the court this season.

Council Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Smith Center, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Council Grove didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Hanover on the 20th. As for Smith Center, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Chapman on the 20th.
