Preview: Palm Beach Lakes Rams vs. King's Academy Lions
The Palm Beach Lakes Rams will be playing in front of their home fans against the King's Academy Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Palm Beach Lakes has not done well against Dwyer recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Palm Beach Lakes had just enough and edged Dwyer out 40-37. The win was all the more spectacular given Palm Beach Lakes' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 61st, while Dwyer is ranked 16th).
Meanwhile, King's Academy stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They blew past North Miami Beach 61-39. With King's Academy ahead 35-14 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
It was another big night for Javian Jones, who scored 16 points along with six assists and five rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Andrew Signorelli, who scored 11 points.
Palm Beach Lakes has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for King's Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-4.
Palm Beach Lakes strolled past King's Academy when the teams last played back in January of 2023 by a score of 65-47. Will Palm Beach Lakes repeat their success, or does King's Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
