Basketball Recap: Hidayah Data's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Cypress Park over Waller

Cypress Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They took a 57-41 bruising from the Waller Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 55-50 back in January.

Cypress Park lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Hidayah Data, who posted nine points and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aaliyah Square, who earned ten points.

Waller's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hailey Angelo-Miller led the charge by putting up eight points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. What's more, Angelo-Miller also racked up two blocks, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Trinity Prince was another key player, dropping a double-double with ten points and ten boards.

Cypress Park's loss dropped their record down to 6-23. As for Waller, their win bumped their record up to 16-17.

As of now, neither Cypress Park nor Waller have any future games scheduled.
