Preview: Ansonia Chargers vs. Seymour Wildcats
The Ansonia Chargers will head out on the road to face off against the Seymour Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Ansonia made easy work of Wilby and carried off a 40-19 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Ansonia.
Meanwhile, Seymour entered their tilt with Wilby with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Seymour snuck past Wilby with a 55-49 win on Tuesday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Seymour to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jillian Keough, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. The game was Keough's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Melissano, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Ansonia's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Seymour, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.
Ansonia lost to Seymour on the road by a decisive 62-48 margin when the teams last played back in February. Can Ansonia avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
