Preview: Weatherford Kangaroos vs. Bell Blue Raiders
The Weatherford Kangaroos will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Bell Blue Raiders at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Weatherford waltzed into their contest on Friday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Rangers a 10-0 shutout.
Colton Mcclure made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and only two hits while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. Mcclure has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive pitching appearances. Mcclure was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.
In other batting news, J.T. Cienega was incredible, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4. Bryce Smith was another key contributor, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, Bell had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They were the clear victor by an 8-1 margin over the Eagles.
Weatherford has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3-1 record this season. As for Bell, their win bumped their record up to 13-5.
