Basketball Recap: Ferndale Comes Up Short

After flying high against Redford Union last Monday, Ferndale came back down to earth. The Ferndale Eagles took a blow against the Edison Academy Pioneers on Wednesday, falling 77-27. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while the Pioneers are ranked 28th).

Ferndale moved to 10-16 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.3 points on average over those games. As for Edison Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won 15 of their last 19 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.

Ferndale does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Edison Academy, they will square off against Detroit Country Day at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Detroit Country Day comes in on eight and Edison Academy on five.
