Basketball Game Preview: Baboquivari Warriors vs. Hayden Lobos

The Baboquivari Warriors just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Hayden Lobos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Baboquivari is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering St. David just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 56-47 to the Tigers.

Meanwhile, Hayden entered their tilt with Ray on Tuesday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They came out on top against the Bearcats by a score of 64-57. 64 seems to be a good number for the Lobos as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Hayden's win came from a few key players Baboquivari will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was J.R Fong, who almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine boards. Those 22 points gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mario Hong, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds.

Hayden smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in eight consecutive matchups.

Baboquivari's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 15-9. As for Hayden, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Baboquivari beat Hayden 64-55 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Will Baboquivari repeat their success, or does Hayden have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
