Softball Recap: Clear Springs Takes Down Dobie in a Playoff Battle

Clear Springs had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They put the hurt on the Dobie Longhorns with a sharp 10-3 win on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Chargers, who have now won 11 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Grace Hirst looked comfortable as she pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Erianna Garcia, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Eryn Polite, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Clear Springs has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Dobie, their loss dropped their record down to 18-12.

Clear Springs will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Longhorns: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
