Basketball Recap: Loganville Christian Academy Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Loganville Christian Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They snuck past the Glynn Academy Terrors with a 47-42 win.

Loganville Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sanai Cyrus led the charge by dropping a double-double on 16 points and 18 rebounds. The game was Cyrus' fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dachelle Lucas, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 boards.

Loganville Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive contests.

Several Terrors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Janiyah Spaulding, who went 7 of 15 on her way to 17 points and seven rebounds. Spaulding has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kyra L Page, who posted seven points in addition to seven assists and seven boards.

Loganville Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Glynn Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Loganville Christian Academy will host Lakeside at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Glynn Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Woodville-Tompkins at 4:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
