Baseball Recap: Arrowhead Christian Finds Home Field Redemption Against Patriot

There's no place like home for Arrowhead Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Patriot Warriors on Friday.

Brayden Bennett made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.

Bennett wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Deegan Martinez, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those two runs gave Martinez a new career-high.

Arrowhead Christian has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Patriot, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arrowhead Christian will head out to challenge Ontario Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Patriot, they will venture away from home to face off against Rubidoux at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.8 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of.
