Taft and Northside are an even 3-3 against one another since September of 2016, but not for long. The Eagles will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Taft and four for Northside.

On Thursday, Taft came up short against Payton College Prep and fell 2-0.

Taft was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-11.

Meanwhile, Northside didn't have quite enough to beat Chicago University on Friday and fell 2-1.

Northside actually scored more points across those three sets (69-65), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 15-25, 25-22.

Taft's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Northside, their loss dropped their record down to 9-11.

Taft beat Northside 2-0 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
