Volleyball Recap: Valdosta Starts off Right with Win over Pierce County

Valdosta had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Pierce County Bears by a score of 2-0. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Bears: they've now won four in a row.

The final score came out to 25-20, 25-17.

Lauren Bloom paced Valdosta's offense, picking up six kills. Bloom got some help from Olivia Shen and her nine assists. Peyton Deal controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Pierce County is on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Valdosta wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Thomas County Central on the 7th. As for Pierce County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Perry on the 9th.
