Softball Recap: Northwestern Finds Home Field Redemption Against Waynedale

There's no place like home for Northwestern, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They came out on top against the Waynedale Golden Bears by a score of 7-2 on Tuesday. The Huskies haven't had any issues with the Golden Bears recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Alysa Troyan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kaylee Cherry, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Coralyn Hall, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Northwestern now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Waynedale, they dropped their record down to 5-9 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.
