Soccer Game Preview: Colonial Forge vs. Mountain View

The Colonial Forge Eagles will square off against the Mountain View Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Colonial Forge fell victim to Massaponax and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. While losing is never fun, Colonial Forge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 75th, while Massaponax are ranked eighth).

Meanwhile, Mountain View strolled into their game on Tuesday with an undefeated record and they left with the same. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against Riverbend. That's two games straight that Mountain View have won by just one goal.

Mountain View pushed their record up to 9-0-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matches. As for Colonial Forge, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4-2.
