Baseball Game Preview: Eagleville Eagles vs. Forrest Rockets

The Eagleville Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Forrest Rockets at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Forrest took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Eagleville, who comes in off a win.

Eagleville lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Hampshire, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's matchup. The Eagles blew past the Hawks 12-5 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 11 games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Carter Blair and Brody Gleason did most of the damage at the plate: Blair went 2-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Gleason went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those four runs gave Blair a new career-high. Kelten Freeze was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Eagleville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hampshire only managed six.

Forrest couldn't beat Summertown on Tuesday even though they stacked five runs on them in the first inning. The Rockets took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The Rockets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Eagleville's record now sits at 17-13. As for Forrest, their loss dropped their record down to 14-10.

Eagleville came up short against Forrest when the teams last played two weeks ago, falling 3-0. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
