Baseball Recap: Wayne County Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Wayne County entered their tilt with Collinwood on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Trojans. That's two games straight that the Wildcats have won by exactly ten runs.

Brady Stooksberry made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run and one double.

In other batting news, Wayne County got a big performance out of Kace Bryant, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jacan Floyd, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Wayne County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in 11 consecutive matchups.

Wayne County's record is now 15-5. As for Collinwood, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-14.
