Nebraska high school football: Landen Crowe of Alliance tops state passing yardage leaders

Alliance senior is the only signal caller in the state to go over the 800-yard mark.

Landen Crowe of Alliance tops the list of high school football passing yardage leaders in Nebraska, according to statistics submitted to MaxPreps. Averaging just over 275 yards per game, Crowe's performances just keep getting better.

After throwing for 191 yards in a 38-8 loss to Chase County in the season-opener, the 6-foot-2 senior piled up 276 yards and two scores while upending Gordon-Rushville 24-20. Last week, Crowe was good on 21 of 33 attempts for 359 yards and five touchdowns as the Bulldogs knocked off Valentine 58-34.

Crowe has thrown for 2,159 yards and 14 touchdowns in his career.

Jett Thomalla of Millard South (Omaha) sits 41 yards behind Crowe after throwing for a season-high 367 yards and four scores in a 56-19 win over rival Millard North last Friday to claim the No. 2 spot on the leaderboard. The sophomore has thrown for 785 yards on the year for 3-0 Millard South and has gone over the 1,000-yard mark for his career.



Chase Evans of St. Cecilia (Hastings), Nebraska commit Daniel Kaelin of Bellevue West (Bellevue) and Jaden Williams of Doniphan-Trumbull (Doniphan) round out the top five after reaching the 700-yard mark for the year. Williams leads the Cornhusker State with 10 scoring strikes on the year.
