MaxPreps national high school football stat stars

A 52-41 win for Live Oak (Morgan Hill, Calif.) against local rival Gilroy produced two of the top rushing performances of the week.

Trevor Bearden rambled for 401 yards on 26 carries to lift Live Oak to the win. Brandon Boyd of Gilroy, however, wasn't far behind as he had 331 yards on 47 carries with five touchdowns.

Both Bearden and Boyd appear in this week's list of National Football Stat Stars.

A pair of California athletes also top the rushing and receiving performances. Tre Watson of Centennial had a huge effort in a 69-55 win over St. Bonaventure (Ventura) as he carried 37 times for 466 yards and seven scores. Meanwhile Santa Margarita's Kyle Sweet had the top receiving performance with 294 yards on 13 catches in a 34-31 overtime loss to Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas).
