Volleyball Recap: Plano Reapers vs. Morris
Plano and Morris squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Plano had to settle for second. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Morris. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Morris this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in September.
Plano's offense was headlined by Camila Nunez and Natalia Olson, who picked up two kills apiece. Nunez really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with five. Olson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.
Morris was led to victory by Alyssa Jepson and Brooke Thorson. Jepson had six digs and five aces, while Thorson had seven assists and four digs. What's more, Jepson posted three assists, the most she's had over her last nine matchups.
Plano has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-24 record this season. As for Morris, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 29-6.
Plano does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Morris, they will venture away from home to take on Sterling at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
