Softball Recap: Danville Ironmen vs. Central Mountain Wildcats

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three games, Danville finally came back down to earth on Wednesday. They suffered a rough 11-1 defeat at the hands of the Central Mountain Wildcats. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest runs Danville has scored all season.

Dejah Jones made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-3 with a stolen base and an RBI. Jones is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's stolen at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

On Central Mountain's side, Adalynn McKeague looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and only two hits over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Central Mountain got a massive performance out of Cirstyn Watson, who went 3-for-3 with a home run, three runs, and three RBI. Cora Myers was another key contributor, firing off two home runs while going 2-for-3.

Danville's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 3-2. As for Central Mountain, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Danville will be playing in front of their home fans against Jersey Shore at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Danville is out to stop a nine-game streak of losses at home dating back to last season. Central Mountain will take on Mifflin County at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
