Softball Recap: Sheyenne Comes Up Short

Sheyenne dropped their record down to 12-9 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They lost 14-4 to the Williston Coyotes. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 10-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

As for Williston, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 18-2. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 contests by eight runs or more this season.

For Williston's part, Rylee Irgens was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. Those two triples gave Irgens a new career-high. Mekiah Klumker was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

As of now, neither Sheyenne nor Williston have any future games scheduled.
