Hesston and Haven are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Swathers will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Hesston is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Monday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 12-1 to Newton, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Hesston saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blayne Wilson, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Jerick Humphreys also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Haven fell victim to Hutchinson and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Salthawks, falling 12-0. The match marked the first time this year in which the Wildcats were not able to get on the board.

Haven has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-7 record this season. As for Hesston, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.

Hesston came out on top in a nail-biter against Haven in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 6-5. Will the Swathers repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
