Redwood Valley took a 11-run  loss the last time they faced off against Windom, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Cardinals narrowly escaped with a  win as the  team sidled past the Eagles  4-3. This was payback for the Cardinals, who suffered  an  11-0  defeat the last time these two teams met.
 Redwood Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Grace Blare, who  went 2-for-5 with two  stolen bases and one  run. Blare has been hot recently, having  posted  at least one  stolen base the last three times she's  played.
Redwood Valley's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Windom, their loss was  their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which  dropped their record down to 3-7.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Redwood Valley will welcome Jackson County Central  at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Windom, they will host Springfield  at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. The Eagles are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on  a  five-game losing streak.
