Volleyball Preview: Hale Ray Noises vs. Cromwell Panthers

After three games on the road, Hale Ray is heading back home. They will welcome the Cromwell Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hale Ray will be strutting in after a win while Cromwell will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Saturday, Hale Ray narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Woodland Regional 1-0.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Hale Ray got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-22.

Meanwhile, Cromwell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell just short of Old Lyme by a score of 3-2. While the Panthers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wildcats 25-16 in the first set.

Cromwell actually scored more points across those five sets (102-96), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 14-25, 25-16, 26-24, 15-12.

The losing side was boosted by Emily Franco, who had 13 digs.

Hale Ray's win bumped their record up to 9-6-1. As for Cromwell, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.
