Preview: Union Grove Christian Patriots vs. Woodland Baptist Christian Eagles
After six games on the road, Union Grove Christian is heading back home. They will take on the Woodland Baptist Christian Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Union Grove Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Gospel Light Christian, but they still walked away with a 47-41 win.
Union Grove Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Taylor Hanes out in front who scored seven points along with two steals. Hanes is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Klaira Cromer, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Woodland Baptist Christian had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They secured a 30-25 W over Calvary Christian on Saturday. The win was familiar territory for Woodland Baptist Christian who now have three in a row.
Union Grove Christian's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-14. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.7 points per game. As for Woodland Baptist Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
Union Grove Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Woodland Baptist Christian when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 35-29 victory.
