Riverside had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Monday. They put the hurt on the Benedictine Bengals with a sharp 10-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-1 back in March.

Ethan Hay looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Riverside got a big performance out of Lelynd Chapman, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was Chapman's first of the season. Spencer Short was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Riverside's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-8. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Benedictine, they now have a losing record of 10-11.

Coming up, Riverside will take on Kirtland at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hornets' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Beavers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Benedictine, they will square off against Stow-Munroe Falls at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
