Liberty County won the last time they faced Islands and things went their way on Thursday too. The Panthers put the hurt on the Sharks with a sharp 14-1 victory. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by nine runs or more this season.

Kayleigh Barnard was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Liberty County got a massive performance out of Amiyah Payne, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases and three runs. Those three hits gave Payne a new career-high. Mya Armstrong was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Liberty County now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Islands, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Liberty County will head out to take on McIntosh County Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Islands, they will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Savannah Christian at 5:30 p.m.
