Soccer Game Preview: University School vs. Gate City

The University School Buccaneers will face off against the Gate City Blue Devils at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Gate City will be up against a hot University School squad: the team just extended their winning streak to six. The Buccaneers' defense stepped up to hand Volunteer a 6-0 shutout on Monday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering University School's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 50th, while Volunteer are ranked 153rd).

University School's offense was hitting Volunteer from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Cooper Booth led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, Gate City got the win against Union on Tuesday by a conclusive 5-0. The win continues a trend for Gate City in their matchups with Union: they've now won five in a row.

Gate City's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for University School, their win bumped their record up to 6-0-2.
