Basketball Recap: Four Straight Home Wins for Lincoln Prep

Lincoln Prep had won three straight home games and Torey Williams did his part to make it four on Friday. The Lincoln Prep Lightning walked away with a 49-41 win over the Leading Edge Academy - GEC Spartans thanks in part to Williams, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Lincoln Prep's points.

Another player making a difference was Mark Cornell, who posted eight points and six boards. That's the most points he has posted since back in January of 2024.

Lincoln Prep is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.4 points per game. As for Leading Edge Academy - GEC, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 9-5 record.

Lincoln Prep wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 45-44 victory against Gilbert Classical Academy on the 13th. Leading Edge Academy - GEC has also already played their next contest, a 58-53 defeat against Mohave Accelerated on the 11th.
