Soccer Recap: Magnolia Comes Up Short

Magnolia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against the Indian Creek Redskins, falling 7-1. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Magnolia came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' soccer rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 72nd in West Virginia, while Indian Creek are ranked 474th in Ohio).

Magnolia's goal came courtesy of Abby Bloom, which was the first she's scored this season.

Magnolia's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13-1. As for Indian Creek, their win ended a four-match drought at home and bumped them up to 5-11.

Magnolia wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Scott on the 10th. As for Indian Creek, they will head out on the road to face off against Dover at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
