Softball Recap: Port Huron Comes Up Short

Port Huron was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 8-1 to the Clawson Trojans. That's two games in a row now that the Red Hawks have lost by exactly seven runs.

Keila Walker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and seven unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up six Ks.

Port Huron now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Clawson, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Port Huron will head out to take on Lamphere at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Red Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. As for Clawson, they will square off against Hazel Park at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
