Softball Recap: Perry-Lecompton Takes a Loss

Perry-Lecompton suffered their closest defeat since May 5, 2025 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Hiawatha Red Hawks by a score of 4-2. The Kaws were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Red Hawks earlier this season, when they won 6-3.

Macie Corcoran made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

Perry-Lecompton's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Hiawatha, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.

Coming up, Perry-Lecompton will take on Royal Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.4 runs per game on average), something the Kaws will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Hiawatha, they will square off against Rossville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
