Recap: Dorman Cavaliers vs. Lakewood Gators
The Dorman Cavaliers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Lakewood 80-34 on the road. Considering Dorman has won four games by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Dorman was led to victory by Makayla Moore and Kimora Evans. Moore scored 16 points, while Evans scored 16 points along with five steals. That's the first time this season that Moore scored 15 or more points. Nakiyah Kelly was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Lakewood lost, one person who can't be blamed is Zakiya Hodge. Despite the final result, she scored 18 points. Hodge scored a full 52.9% of Lakewood's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Iesha shaw, who scored six points.
Dorman has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Lakewood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
