Basketball Game Preview: Roy/Mosquero Blue/Lady Blue vs. Grady Bronchos

After both having extra time off, the Roy/Mosquero Blue/Lady Blue and the Grady Bronchos will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Roy/Mosquero easily dispatched Corona/Vaughn last Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Roy/Mosquero fell just short of Fort Sumner/House by a score of 58-55 last Saturday. The Blue/Lady Blue were up 20-5 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Grady). They blew past To'hajiilee 78-22 last Saturday. The Bronchos have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 22 points or more this season.

Grady's win came from a few key players Roy/Mosquero will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Zander Ciancio, who posted 23 points. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2023. Deakin Ragland was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Roy/Mosquero has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.6 points per game. As for Grady, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
