Preview: Pelion Panthers vs. Williston-Elko Blue Devils
After both having extra time off, the Pelion Panthers and the Williston-Elko Blue Devils will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 9:00 a.m. on December 27th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Thursday, Pelion was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 33-32 to Blackville-Hilda. Pelion has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Williston-Elko had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They had to suffer through a rough 59-31 loss at the hands of Bamberg-Ehrhardt.
Pelion has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Williston-Elko, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-1.
Pelion didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Williston-Elko in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 42-38 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pelion since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
