Baseball Game Preview: Saratoga Central Catholic Saints vs. Hoosick Falls Panthers

Saratoga Central Catholic has won seven straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Hoosick Falls has won seven straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Saints will welcome the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Saratoga Central Catholic is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.8 runs per game this season.

On Saturday, Saratoga Central Catholic earned a 7-3 victory over Duanesburg. The seven-run effort marked the Saints' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Tyler Weygand was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Saratoga Central Catholic let Kihl Kelly and Hunter Fales run wild. Kelly got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Fales went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. That's the most doubles Fales has posted since back in May of 2024. Ronan Rowe was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Saratoga Central Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in four consecutive games.

Hoosick Falls came out on top against Hudson on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Bluehawks.

Hoosick Falls' win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Saratoga Central Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.
