Baseball Recap: Geneva's Losing Streak Snapped at Six Games

Geneva came into Thursday's contest having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victor by an 11-4 margin over the Geneva County Bulldogs on Thursday. The Panthers not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since February 14th.

Jacob Rose spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks. He also tossed two walks, which is notable because Geneva is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 1-7 otherwise.

At the plate, Haze Ammons was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. Another player making a difference was John Parker Johnson, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.

Geneva's win bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Geneva County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Geneva will take on New Brockton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. New Brockton will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Geneva surely won't give up without a fight. As for Geneva County, they will challenge Cottonwood at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
