Basketball Recap: Beaver Dam Comes Up Short

Beaver Dam was the 91-85 winner over Milton when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Golden Beavers fell 61-50 to the Red Hawks on Tuesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Golden Beavers came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while the Red Hawks are ranked 116th).

Beaver Dam dropped their record down to 16-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Milton, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Beaver Dam will square off against Baraboo at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Beavers will be up against the Thunderbirds' rather soft defense (which has allowed 62.19 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Milton, they will challenge Watertown at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The Red Hawks' defense better be ready for this one: the Goslings have averaged an impressive 57.3 points per game this season.
