Wheeler County and Telfair County are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 26-26 at halftime, Telfair County was not quite Wheeler County's equal in the second half on Saturday. Telfair County fell to Wheeler County 57-53. While losing is never fun, Telfair County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 463rd, while Wheeler County is ranked 164th).

Wheeler County's win bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Telfair County, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Wheeler County didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Telfair County when the teams last played on Saturday, but they still walked away with a 57-53 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wheeler County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
