Basketball Recap: Tahlequah Tigers vs. Booker T. Washington Hornets

If the Tahlequah Tigers were feeling good off their 68-35 takedown of the Pryor Tigers last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Tahlequah took a serious blow against the Hornets on Thursday, falling 91-54. While losing is never fun, Tahlequah can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Hornets are ranked 14th).

It was another big night for Barron Harris jr., who scored 22 points along with six rebounds for Booker T. Washington. Harris jr. continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Matulis, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds.

Tahlequah's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Booker T. Washington, the victory was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tahlequah will take on the Cardinals at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Booker T. Washington, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Zebras at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd.
