Soccer Game Preview: Pinewood Prep vs. Hilton Head Christian Academy

The Pinewood Prep Panthers will take on the Hilton Head Christian Academy Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Hilton Head Christian Academy is facing Pinewood Prep at the wrong time: Pinewood Prep suffered their first home loss of the season on Tuesday and they're likely out for redemption. They fell just short of the Hurricanes by a score of 2-1. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 18, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Pinewood Prep's goal came courtesy of Dylen Gauthier, who's now up to seven this season.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Hilton Head Christian Academy was not quite Porter-Gaud's equal in the second half last Wednesday. They fell just short of the Cyclones by a score of 1-0.

Pinewood Prep's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 7-4-1. As for Hilton Head Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 12-5.

Pinewood Prep beat Hilton Head Christian Academy 2-0 in their previous meeting back in March. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
